iPhone: iTunes Missing Album Art

This doesn’t happen all the time, but I thought I would mention it anyway.

Today, I clicked on the iTunes icon on my iPhone to check out the top 10 in numerous genres. I noticed the album arts are not loading. I kept going back and forth and flipping between genres but that didn’t seem to solve the issue. And since there isn’t a refresh button I decided to quit the application and start it up again. Still, that didn’t do the trick. Some genres seem to display the album art with no trouble but some don’t. So what’s the deal here?

So I left my iPhone for a while after turning OFF wifi. When I came back to it after a couple of hours, turned wifi ON, and sparked up iTunes, the album art now seems to be showing fine.

So was this an issue on the iTunes server side or was it an iPhone bug? Or was it a connection issue from my side?

We may never know. But still, it’s a strange issue that I thought was worth mentioning. After all, it has something to do with the iPhone.

iPhone: Not Responding & Black Screen

Before I slept last night I plugged in my iPhone to get it recharged. I woke up today morning and pressed the home button to check for any messages and the phone wouldn’t wake up. Nothing seem to respond.

After searching for answers on the net I found out that a quite number of users had the same problem and some of them posted a workaround.

What I had to do is download and install and application called ZiPhone and connect it to my iPhone while it’s in recovery mode and click on Normal Mode (which is located under Advanced Features).

That pretty much did the trick. I just hope that I don’t have to keep doing this often.

Coming Up: iPhone Posts

There is no reason for me to mention the advantages of iPhones since everyone knows how cool they are and how their user interface beats anything currently in the phone market. Instead, I will be mostly talking about the disadvantages of owning an iPhone and comparing it to other mobile devices I owned in the past. So far, I can honestly mention at least 5 features that the iPhone lacks which is available in mostly all recent mobile devices. But I won’t get into it now as I am feeling a bit tired and in need of some serious rest.

The Wait is Finally Over, Say Hello To My iPhone

So the package I have been waiting for four weeks to arrive finally showed up on my doorstep and it had my long awaited iPhone in it. I am still playing around with it trying out every feature and every detail. So it might take me a while to post on my experience with the iPhone. There is definitely pros and cons when comparing it to other devices and mobile operating systems such as Symbian and Windows Mobile. But so far I like what I see.

Follow-Up #2: Shipping With USPS Sucks

It’s the fourth week and I still haven’t received my package yet. Honestly I believed that this will be the last week I spend waiting. Now there is only one day left till the end of the fourth week and the chances for the package showing up tomorrow before next week is pretty slim. On the bright side, USPS did update the tracking information on their website. Here is the latest reading:

Detailed Results:
  • Out of Foreign Customs, March 13, 2008, 7:51 am, CANADA
  • Into Foreign Customs, March 10, 2008, 6:45 am, CANADA
  • Arrived Abroad, March 10, 2008, 6:45 am, CANADA
  • International Dispatch, March 04, 2008, 7:08 am, NJI
  • Electronic Shipping Info Received, March 01, 2008

So now I know the package is FINALLY released from customs but no idea on the exact whereabouts. This is certainly by far the longest time I had to wait for a shipment coming from the States. For God’s sakes, the origin of the shipment is just eight hours away from where I live! It would have been faster if I picked it up myself. And you know what the worst part of it all? The shipper told me that he upgraded the shipment to Priority Service and I should be getting it in two to three business days.

As you can tell, I have been complaining a lot about this shipment and I am at the point where I don’t care how long it takes anymore just as long as the package arrives with no absolutely no damage to what’s inside.

So the question now is: Will I get to enjoy the content of the package before the weekend or will I have to wait till next week?
