The Greatest Gift

If you are thinking of buying a gift for a cetrain someone, whether for valentine, birthday, or any other occasion, I would certainly recommend the Nintendo Wii. My boss gave all his employees a Wii as a christmas gift and I was fortunate to be on his list.

Ever since I got it I got soo much into the Wii Sports game. I personally think its the best game for the Wii so far. And you don’t have to buy it seperatly since it’s included in the Wii package.

Today, I invited my friends over and it was the perfect time to power on the Wii and play some Wii Sports with the gang. A couple of hours later my friends were sweating and ended up with sore arms. I always consider the Wii Sports mostly as a workout instead of simply just a console game. It’s an awesome way to burn some calories while having fun.

So forget flowers and chocolate for valentine’s day this year and consider the Wii. It’s definitley entertaining for couples and the whole family in general. It’s seriously the greatest gift anyone could wish for!

Guitar Hero III for the Wii

When my youngest brother came home one day with a Guitar Hero III game for the Nintendo Wii, I immediately thought it was a rediculous and non-entertaining game. Today, I proved myself wrong.

After weeks of refusing to play the game, I thought to myself that it wont hurt to give it a shot. So I held the wireless guitar controller, selected one of my favourite rock music from the menu, and the game started. I imagined that I would have a tough time getting used to the controller as well as the game in general. But I was surprised of how easy it was to get the hang of it even during playing the first song, which by the way I scored 93% on.

The game wasn’t just entertaining, I had so much fun that I got really into it. I started moving around the room, dancing with the beat, swinging the guitar, and singing along. Of course I didn’t stop playing after only one song, I kept on playing again and again until I started to feel the burn and the pain in my wrist.

Nevertheless, the game definitely kicked ass and I would totally recommend it to all Wii owners. Go and get Guitar Hero II! If you can find one.

Laptop Out of Order

For the first time in my life I had to send my laptop in for repair. Usually I manage to fix any problem I face, especially when it comes to software. But when it comes to laptop hardware, I try not to give it a shot. Why? Cause I have no clue what lies beneath that keyboard! Everything is different hardware wise when it comes to laptops. Even if I have a lot of experience fixing, assembling and upgrading PC components, that still doesn’t make me able to open up a laptop and have a look under the hood.

So I went back to Staples, almost two years after the purchase, and made use of the service plan I had. It turns out that it would cost almost $500 to fix it. Thank god it ain’t coming out of my pocket. It was deffinitely a hell of a wise decision to buy the extended two year service plan.

So what’s the problem with my laptop? The screen’s backlight decided to never turn on again. So if I wanted to use my laptop I would have to hook it up to an external monitor to see what I am doing on my desktop. Other than that, there aren’t other major issues.

It probably will take Staples at least two weeks to send it to HP, get it repaired, and to get it back. Fortunately I have two other functional PCs at home to play around with in the meantime. But of course nothing can fully replace my personal laptop.

The wait begins today.
